FAQ on Mental Health Counseling
If you're looking for a change within your life, let Embark Counseling help! Mental health counseling or substance abuse counseling is for anyone who is open to taking initative with their life, working collaboratively with the therapist, and implementing strategies and techniques as discussed in counseling.
Therapists at Embark Counseling are in-network with several major health care plans and EAPs for clients who wish to use their insurance benefits. Services can also be obtained through self-pay and potential voucher options as well.
Therapy is most effective when the client and therapist meet weekly for 45-60 minute sessions. The "bulk" of the therapeutic work is done at the beginning of the therapy process. Unfortunately, there is no magic answer as to how many sessions a client will need to successfully reach their treatment goals as progress is dependent upon each individual client. As the client is reaching their therapy goals, therapy will phase out, or continue biweekly, or as necessary for the client.
Medication must always be prescribed by a psychiatrist or other medical professional; this is not a service offered at Embark Counseling. Psychotherapy can be very benefical in overcoming different mental health symtpoms. At times, medication may be a utilized intervention; referrals can be provided if necessary.
